Melissa attended Des Moines University to obtain her B.S. degree in Medical Science and then her
Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine. She worked in the Midwest for a while as a foot and ankle surgeon.
Recognized for her diligence, passion, “team” approach and incredible work ethic,
Melissa received the “Teacher of the Year” award for Brevard County (Area IV) and Titusville High
School, plus the “Florida Health Teacher of the Year” award in 2005.
Melissa has instructed, conducted research, and served as an author/editor as a university
professor both in the USA and South Korea, where she has taught several courses, including her
favorite: Anatomy & Physiology. She has also taught Communication Disorders, English, German,
Research Writing (graduate-level course), Medical Terminology, Introduction to Health Care,
Aerobics, and First Aid/Safety. As a tutor, she has helped students succeed and additionally coached in College Prep, Economics, American Government, Speech/Public Speaking, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, World History, and Life Management Skills.
